Treating a Bosc Monitor at Valley Exotics

We saw Darryl the Bosc monitor today! He’s a rescue and his new owner is treating him for an ongoing issue affecting his jaw, but thankfully, he’s not doing too badly at present.

This species is really not a good choice for most reptile keepers as aside from their large size, they are difficult to keep due to their lifecycle, as they are thought to naturally undergo a diapause in nature and recreating this in captivity can be tricky. Hence this is an advanced level species!

None-the-less, they are absolutely beautiful and look just like baby dinosaurs!
