Valley Referrals is equipped with a dedicated orthopaedic department. We have a team of experienced and well trained surgeons and nurses who are able to manage a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions.
Our facilities within orthopaedics include: –
- Dedicated orthopaedic suite comprising of theatre, prep area and equipment store.
- Digital radiography and Computer Tomography (CT) on site
- Live in-theatre radiography display
- Electrostimulation guided local anaesthetic and regional blocks
- Intraoperative radiography
- Extensive range of orthopaedic equipment and implants
- Video arthroscopy
- Large walking recovery kennels with individual lighting, climate control and orthopaedic mattress’
These facilities allow us to tailor each patient’s individual needs and provide personalised treatment plans.
Our team are happy to accept referrals for a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions:
- Joint conditions – Cruciate Disease, Patella Luxation, Elbow and Hip dysplasia, OCD
- Lameness investigation
- fracture management
- Joint luxation
- Arthrodesis
Many of these conditions are treated via our fixed price procedure packages. This allows owners to have an accurate idea of costs involved prior to treatment, with no hidden costs or surprises.
We are always happy to provide help and support to referring vets with management or decision making with these types of cases.
Our orthopaedic department work within the wider team, at Valley Veterinary Hospital to offer a complete patient treatment package. We have onsite 24/7 veterinary supervision ensuring patients that are having surgery with us can remain on site before, during, and after their procedure. They will receive around the clock veterinary supervision and will not be required to transfer to other off site facilities for any ongoing care.
During the recovery period we work closely with the physiotherapy and rehabilitation team to develop an exercise and recovery plan that suits each patient’s individual requirements.
